General Observations & Key Findings
Site context, field notes, and guided Key Findings & Recommendations
General Observations are recorded at the start of every BMS visit (Page 2 site info header) and summarised at the end (Page 6). The Key Findings & Recommendations section is the most important output of the entire survey — it translates raw data into management decisions.

Key Findings & Recommendations
0/6 completedThis section (Page 6 of the booklet) is the most important output of the survey. It should be written after all survey data has been collected and the Composite Score calculated. Use the prompts below to guide your response — each answer should be 1–3 sentences backed by specific data from your survey.
Teaching Note — Why Key Findings Matter
The Key Findings section is where science becomes action. A well-written set of recommendations can directly influence land management decisions, funding applications, and pest control priorities. Encourage learners to write findings that are: specific (cite actual data), actionable (a manager can act on them), and prioritised (most important first). Avoid vague statements like "biodiversity needs improvement" — instead write "RTC% of 18% indicates possum pressure is High; recommend increasing trap density from 50m to 25m spacing on the northern boundary."
